The ICON Restaurant and Lounge will host a "East meets West" social event featuring Carolina RallySport Driver and team principle Matthew Johnson. Johnson, flying in from Apex, North Carolina will appear with his 2005 Sandhills rally co-driver; Sacramento resident Wendy Robinson Nakamoto.
"This is a special event to raise awareness of American rally racing and Carolina RallySport's part in it as we debut our plans for the 2005 season" said Robinson-Nakamoto. "At Thursday evening's special 'rally infused' atmosphere at the ICON Restaurant & Lounge, guests can meet Matthew and I, enjoy the rallying feel, and see what we're up to for the coming year in a fun and energizing environment."
Johnson adds, "We love to rally, it's a very passionate thing that's close to our hearts. This event gives us the chance to share that with others away from the hustle and pressure of a rally such that they can see what draws us, and thousands of others around the world, to this most unique form of motorsport. We believe that once people get their minds around it and learn about it they're hooked for life. No question it happened for us!"
The Carolina RallySport team will be making its 2005 season debut in late January in South Carolina at the Sandhills SandBlast Rally. This compact, one-day event will be a perfect shakedown for the team to gel in the car and get this much anticipated team in action for the year.
