Carolina RallySport- "Dream Ride to the Clouds"
Apex, NC (May 15, 2005 )

Carolina RallySport is offering a special service as part of their inaugural competition at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb June 25, 2005. To honor the spirit of adventure, aliveness, wonderment and risk held by those members of our lives who have passed on beyond us they are carrying along some special cargo.

People wishing to pay a special tribute to the lives of their loved ones lost will be sending along a portion of the cremated remains of that person in the Subaru WRX rally car as it charges up the 'Peak. The Driver, Matthew Johnson, lost his Dad to brain cancer two years ago. After a dream about his Dad and how he wished he could come along to the 'Peak Matthew woke and realized how he could let others join in.

Johnson - "Everyone in their life did something that was a risk for them, that was scary and for which the outcome was unknown. That's what we call an adventure and what we call living life to the fullest and chasing our dreams. Joining us as we chase our dreams allows you to celebrate the dreams and life of whoever you'd like to remember and allows them to participate with us in a way."

Currently the team is offering a special hood position for auction on Ebay with plans to donate 50% of the selling price to a local Pikes Peak charity. Afterwards other arrangements can be made for sending riders in a specially designed case in the trunk of the rally car.

The crew of Matthew Johnson as driver and Wendy Robinson Nakamoto as co-driver are a new pair out on the stages. After meeting in May of 2004 at the Rim of the World rally they found that each had enough energy and passion for rallying to be a match for the other. They ran the SandBlast rally in South Carolina in January 2005 as a test with good results and have continued to gain experience together in Oregon and California leading up to the Pikes Peak event.
